Monday Motivation (+ a GIVEAWAY!): It Does Not Matter How Slowly You Go As Long As You Do Not Stop

by - July 24, 2017

Happy Monday, y'all! Who else needs a little extra motivation to make it through today??

Hard for me to say put that "happy" before "Monday" after such a full and fun weekend! I'm not ready to go back to real life! I had a couple friends from college visiting this weekend. Neither of them lives in Kentucky anymore, but one of them is about to move all the way to Texas for a new job! So this weekend was our last chance to all get together before the trip becomes longer than you can easily make in just one weekend! We ate too much, slept too little, sang all the time, and got popsicles at Lexington's new Steel City Pops just about every day! On Saturday, we spent the morning at the pool before I went to help a friend shoot a wedding. And then on Sunday, we met up with another friend from our college years (and got popsicles again! haha). It was so good to catch up on life with these three! Our college years were so much fun and we've done a lot of growing up together. I hate that these ladies, and so many of our other sweet friends from those years, are scattered all over the world now. It makes staying in touch a lot more work, but it also makes our time together even more special!

MONDAY MOTIVATION

So if you're like me, and the reality of going back to work today is a little more than you're mentally prepared for - here's a little motivation to help kick your butt into gear.

"It Does Not Matter How Slowly You Go As Long As You Do Not Stop"

Maybe today you don't feel like putting in effort. Maybe today you want to just coast by and put in the bare minimum at work. Maybe you're telling yourself "That dream? Yeah, I'll start on it tomorrow." But here's the thing... tomorrow is never a guarantee. DON'T STOP MOVING.

All you have right now is today. It might be Monday, you're worn out from the weekend, and you're lacking in motivation. But each day you're given is a gift and it's your responsibility to make the most of it!

Progress is progress. It doesn't matter if it's 1 step or 100, it's better than 0! Movement in the right direction will always pay off eventually. Wouldn't you rather look back on today knowing you did something, even if it was one teeny, tiny, minuscule thing, rather than letting an entire day go by without hustling toward your dreams and goals?

The first step is always the hardest. It doesn't matter if it's in your job, toward your dream, or in the process of finding healing. Getting started takes the most effort and motivation. The beginning is where you battle the most fear. If you're already overcome that and started moving forward, DON'T STOP. The more steps you take, the easier they get! And when you pick the lazy way, and take a day off, you have to start alllllllll over again. One day off makes it more likely that you'll take the next day off... and the next... and the next.

So what goal are you making progress on? What step can you take today, even if you don't feel like it? I promise, once you tackle one step, the next one will be easier! And even slow progress is still progress. Just don't stop!
